Wake Up and Dance was born out of years of uphill mornings. I've been known to defiantly snooze away the feeling of dread my alarm clock provokes until I'm tripping over my underwear. I tried Enya-larms, apps that make you shake your phone like a cocktail and complete math problems, wake up calls from my boyfriend every morning for two years (really tried here). I decided I just wasn't a "morning person." It's taken a few creative years to ask myself the right question: 

 

What would make my mornings more fun?​

Apart from the smell of bacon, it's easily dancing that brings me to life. The kind without an ounce of polish - I come from a long line of sweaty wedding dancers. This is the remedy I've been seeking all along. Day ahead holds unavoidable stresses? Messed up dream about kissing my brother? Mornings missing some soul? Twerking is a blessing! A blessing baby! Maybe I can't stop waking up a woozy grump BUT I can get up and dance it out. So in name of James Brown, get up offa that thang.
